A Simple Text, a Phone Call, a Letter

Image
Photo by John-Mark Smith on Pexels.com A Simple Text, a Phone Call, a Letter To reach out to you would be so easy, A simple text, a phone call, a letter even. "How are you?", but I know that wouldn't do. It's been too long, too much water under the bridge. So I'll just sit here and miss you instead, Relive the memories we made, the good times we shed, The laughs we shared, the tears we cried. I'll hold onto those moments forever, inside. I know that you're out there somewhere, Living your life, making new memories, But I can't help but wonder if you ever think of me. Do you ever miss me the way I miss you? I'll never know the answer to that question, But I'll continue to hold onto the hope that one day, We'll find our way back to each other, And pick up where we left off, like no time has passed. Until then, I'll just keep missing you, And hope that you're doing well. More Works by Nancy Ann Creed Th...

Etched Upon My Heart

Image
Etched Upon My Heart The world was wide and waiting The day you took your start, And every step you’ve taken since Is etched upon my heart. I’ve watched the boy of wonder Turn to a man of grace, With courage in your steady hands And kindness in your face. It isn’t just the things you’ve done, The trophies on the shelf, But the quiet way you choose to act When you are just yourself. Through every doubt and shadow, Through every climb and fall, You’ve found the strength to stand back up— The greatest feat of all. I look at you and see the best Of everything I know, And feel a pride so deep and vast It has no place to go. So keep your eyes upon the sun, Keep honest, brave, and true; There is no greater joy I own Than simply knowing you. More Works by Nancy Ann Creed https://books2read.com/u/m25Ygd

Your Prayer Is Bound By Love

Image
Photo by Tima Miroshnichenko on Pexels.com Your Prayer Is Bound By Love When darkness falls upon a soul you know, And misconduct is the seed that they sow, When actions pierce the better self you see, And they depart from how they ought to be, A higher call demands your swift response, Beyond the simple bitterness of offense. Specifically, when they project their strife, Inflicting turmoil on another life, When pain and discontent are thrust outside, And unkindness is the path where they ride— And when their negativity is aimed at you, The target of the anger they accrue— The time for action is not a fight, But deep engagement in the spirit's light. The clear command is given from above: You should pray. Your prayer is bound by love. This is a prayer with purpose dual-faced, For strength to face the hurt that is embraced. Pray earnestly to guard your inner soul, For wisdom, grace, and to achieve your goal: To stand against injustice, firm and true, Lest roots of bitterne...

Holiday Bliss

Image
Photo by Nicole Michalou on Pexels.com Holiday Bliss The year turns slow, a measured, quiet grace, The final, faded green surrenders place. The frost begins to cling, a crystal sheen, Upon the windowpane, a painted scene. And through the air, a certain sweet note rings, The hushed anticipation that it brings. The scent of pine, a memory held dear, The flicker of the flame that conquers fear. The simple joy of calling out a name, A bond rekindled in the hearth's warm frame. For in this season, when the world grows dim, We gather close—the sturdy branch upon the limb. The laughter spills from kitchens warm and bright, A symphony of comfort, pure delight. Reflecting back the twinkling festive light, That chases shadows from the longest night. The worn traditions, comforting and deep, The silent vows the generations keep. The treasured tales the passing years will house, Whispered from grandmother to the spouse. A mother’s gentle touch, a father’s quiet gaze, The simple, stu...

My Light

Image
Photo by Abby Kihano on Pexels.com My Light A steady beacon, you appear, When shadows gather and I fear The path ahead is lost and gone In darkness where I walk alone. The sole voice of my reason's plea, The anchor of reality, When the world spins with chaotic strife, You are the breath that restores my life. A silent force, you bring me peace, A quiet, beautiful release. Let tempests rage and gales descend, Let the harsh winds their fury lend. Let towering waves crash on the shore, Threatening to consume all. Yet, armed with our bond's deep might, We will endure, we will unite. Unbroken, we will conquer all, Our spirit standing strong and tall. A lighthouse in the darkest squall, Together, we will never fall. While others scatter sparks of joy, And fill my days without alloy, Their collective light, a vibrant beat, Is not the power to complete. They give my life its rhythm's art, And cause the beating of my heart. But it is you, the vital source, The enduring love, ...
